Mr Hughes has been Headteacher of Battle and Langton since 2012, and a member of staff since 2001.
His warm and welcoming nature are fundamental to the ethos of the school and he prides himself on knowing each child in our school, and quite often their families too.
Mr Hughes oversees the whole of the running of the school, and is the person to see if you have particular difficulties that cannot be solved by the class teacher.
Mr Hughes is also a deputy designated safeguarding lead
Mr Alexander has been Deputy Head since 2012 and has been a member of staff since 2008.
Mr Alexander oversees the academic side of the school, leading on teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum. He is the person to see if there is a question or difficulty with your child’s learning that the class teacher cannot solve.
He is also excellent at solving technical issues, so feel free to speak to him if you have any problems with our online services.
Mrs Crocker has been Deputy Head since 2020 and a member of staff since 2012
Mrs Crocker oversees the pastoral side of the school, leading on Special Needs, Child protection (safeguarding), and behaviour.
As the school SENCO she is the person to see if you have concerns about potential special needs that the class teacher cannot solve. You can also see her if you have concerns about your child’s wellbeing or behaviour.
Mrs Crocker is also the Designated Safeguarding Lead
Miss Mooney has been a teacher at Battle and Langton since 2013 and takes responsibility for the curriculum area of English.
As lower school Assistant Head, she is responsible for the children and teachers in Years 1, 2 and 3. She is the person to see if you have a child in these year groups and still have a concern despite talking with the class teacher.
Miss Mooney is also a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
Mrs Wapshott has been a teacher at Battle and Langton since 2021 and takes responsibility for the curriculum area of PE and PSHE
As upper school Assistant Head, she is responsible for the children and teachers in Years 4 5 and 6. She is the person to see if you have a child in these year groups and still have a concern despite talking with the class teacher.
Miss Mooney is also a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
